Interviewer: At one year old, if you were asked to describe a normal one year old in your head what would you see? Let us say I got to go to a room and I push that kid at one year old, just about what he is doing, what would you expect the kid to be doing?Interviewee: Usually, we look to see as far as the socialization. The babies start babbling by a year. Should know one or two words. Interviewer: But be waiving a little bit.Interviewee: Waiving, mama, dada. Should know mama and dada appropriately.Interviewer: It could be walking or it could be cruising on that.Interviewee: Could be cruising, could be holding on to furniture, could be pulling to a stand, maybe not walking unassisted yet but at the point of cruising or taking a few steps. That will be considered—Interviewer: That would be considered a healthy one year old? Not doing that does not mean the kid is going to be abnormal. Interviewee: Right. Interviewer: It could be, the kid could be not doing some of the things but it is a reflect.Interviewee: Yes, and sometimes babies would like to get to get to 20 pounds by a year, we usually say 20 pounds and 30 inches but some babies are a little overweight also and could require some extra time to do those, to hit those milestone so—Interviewer: So carrying a pack of potatoes and at that it is a little more difficult moving around so—Interviewee: Exactly. Interviewer: So that is all part of the whole overlook of the child.
